Wednesday climbing sessions
Climbing sessions are open to anyone eligible for SportUni’s sports services and interested in climbing, free of charge. Tekiila instructors are present to ensure that everyone gets to climb and finds suitable loan equipment. You don’t need any prior climbing experience to participate in the climbing sessions.
Climbing sessions are held during the academic year on Wednesdays from 18:00 to 20:00 at Tamppi Arena and, depending on the participants, in Bommari. You can show up at Tamppi Areena without a separate sign-up. There will probably be no instructors present in Bommari, unless someone has informed the board that they will shop up.
Monday and Friday climbing meet-ups
If you have belaying skills already and want to find some climbing company or just climb more, we have climbing meet-ups beside the climbing sessions. The time of these meet-ups is on Monday and Friday from 16 o’clock till 20 o’clock at Tamppi Arena and in Bommari. At Tamppi Arena, you need the skills for top rope climbing and belaying, which you can learn for example on our beginner’s course.
Sign-up for the sessions
There will be polls in Tekiila’s Telegram group for each day’s session. On the poll you can notify others that you’ll be joining and at what time. For the Monday and Friday meetups, you can see if anyone else will be showing up and others can see that you will show up. For the Wednesday sessions, you can ensure that there will be an instructor present by notifying us that you’ll be coming. If you don’t use Telegram and want to make sure that there will be an instructor present on a Wednesday session, you can contact the climbing session representative via e-mail.
